Getting back on my feet has proven to be difficult. I had the surgery on Thursday and I wasn’t able to get the bleeding under control until Friday morning at 2:30. I had to resort to the painful powdered herbs to get it to slow down enough I was comfortable to try to sleep. Last night was the first night I was able to lay down to sleep- I’ve been sleeping in hubby’s recliner. The bleeding has mostly stopped now. I’ve been a tired, strung-out mess for days and I am ready to reclaim my human status.
My shoulder and neck are better but they continue to pop loudly multiple times a day. I’ve had soreness hang on for days. Mom’s still recovering, too- she was driving and the impact was on her side of the car. Knowing how bad it was crashing into a huge delivery truck at a low speed, I can only imagine the pain and damage that speed limit crashes cause, much less people who are over the speed limit. The delivery truck just had a scratch, but mom’s car is really torn up.
I had been on the max dose of both tylenol and advil for almost a week so by Saturday, my liver was hurting. I had to discontinue the pain killers and begin castor oil packs, milk thistle, dandelion and other supportive herbs to help deal with the issues. The castor oil pack proved to be useful in that it caused movement that relieved the discomfort- I assume I had some stones backed up and the pack encouraged them to move into the gallbladder.
Today is the first day I’ve been truly upright and attempting to work. It’s going to take me several more days to return to normal. Until then, I’m in catch up mode. We’re also behind on some housework- I have Mount Foldme swallowing my couch and the kids have piled up some clutter when I was too out of it to prevent the explosions from claiming flat space. The bar is strewn with mail and groceries, the kitchen floor is covered in legos and shoes, random pieces of clothing and schoolwork are scattered in just about every room of the house.
I’m looking forward to being able to eat solid food again. Having scrambled eggs, soups and yogurt so many days in a row is tiring.

We were scheduled to announce a big, new product this Friday, but I believe we will have to put off that announcement a few days to allow me to get caught up. Keep an eye out here on the blog for the big announcement and a nice introductory price that will only be available for a short time. Many of you have been asking for this product and we’re excited to finally launch it.
