The blog has been quiet since last week. I’ve had a mess on my hands. I recently had some old, degrading dental work that was done in my pre-TF days redone by my wonderful, mercury-free dentist. We wanted to fix it before it started causing pain and problems. You see, fillings aren’t permanent- they degrade over time and eventually have to be re-done. This dental work was showing bad signs, so we decided to fix it now before it became a problem.
Well, it became a problem. One of the repairs didn’t take and it abscessed. For a week, I’ve dealt with swelling, severe pain and the roof of my mouth bulging and that’s WITH antibiotics and pain killers! I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, I’m loosing weight. It finally looks like we’re getting it under control and I see the dentist today.
I have to admit this has been surprising considering I have healed cavities and repaired my and my children’s dental problems via natural means in the past. But for whatever reason, my body rejected this one. I’ve tried every remedy I’ve been told about, to no relief. I even tried the mud pack trick that worked for Jeff, but it didn’t do anything for me. So while I don’t support most of modern medicine and its ways, I am thankful that it is there for emergencies when natural means don’t work.
As soon as I’m back on my feet, I’ll be back to blogging. Until then, I rest and try to remain upright. Here’s hoping this will be over soon.
UPDATE: On the way to the dentist’s office, we were in a car wreck. So we’ve rescheduled everything and I’m now home with a shoulder and neck in pain and I’m in a fix!
