This hasn’t been the best cooking day. I started the day by testing a Valentine’s Day dessert I had been thinking about for a while. It came out looking pretty but it had to be flipped out for taste testing and pictures. I decided to flip it onto a big cutting board to make my life easier, and I lost my grip. It crashed to the counter with the plate still on top. The whole thing wound up smooshed.
It was just as well, the taste wasn’t what I wanted so I knew I’d need to make it again.
I marshaled the forces for take two. It didn’t fare much better. This time the transfer went better and it remained in one piece. Hubba took one bite and politely declined more. It was bone dry. I solved the flavor issue but created a moisture problem.
Back to the drawing board. Tomorrow’s another day.
