Blogging is very much a conversation and we hope you will join in.
Your Comment Submission
All comments, pingbacks and trackbacks go into moderated status upon being submitted. Comments are approved as quickly as possible, however comments that require a response can take longer to show up than ones that do not, as we always respond at the time we approve of the message. Comment approval is slower on weekends and holidays or when an article generates a lot of interaction. Please do not submit a comment more than once, we’ll moderate it a quickly as we can.
CTF does not accept any comments that:
- Have irrelevant links or information
- Attack people instead of discussing ideas, information or personal experience
- Contain foul language
- Are heated, snarky or snide
- Contain libel
- Contains threatening language towards any person or group
- Are submitted by a false or anonymous e-mail address
- Are not in English
ALL e-mail addresses are checked for a history of spam prior to comments being posted. Your IP address is logged when you comment. IP irregularities will be a cause for comment removal and possible banning.
- Contain affiliate links or masked links
- Contain links that are listed as phishing or spam sites
- We reserve the right to remove all links from your comment if we feel its content does not reflect the audience of the CTF website. This includes linkbacks on a comment that is otherwise on-topic.
In addition, any broken links will be removed automatically by our blogging software as part of our regular blog maintenance.
SPAM Filters Aren’t Always Right
We have SPAM filters in place to filter out the garbage. Unfortunately, sometimes that means good comments get filtered out as well. While we try to keep an eye out, we don’t catch every one. If your comment does not show up, chances are the spam filter caught it. Contact us using the ‘contact us’ feature in the menu bar and we’ll find it if it hasn’t yet been trashed by the filtering system.
Subscribing To Comments Via E-mail
If you want to receive notification of comments left after you join the conversation, it is necessary to provide a valid e-mail address. To sign up for comments, check mark the box next to “Notify me of follow up comments via e-mail” before submitting your comment.
If your e-mail address bounces from your comment subscription, we will remove your comment to stop the bouncing.
Please use a valid e-mail address when commenting. It will not be displayed unless you type it in the body of your comment and you will not be subscribed to any mailing list by leaving a comment. We do not harvest commenter’s e-mail addresses for marketing or for sale.
If you use an e-mail address which requires any type of human interaction to confirm I’m not a spammer, your comment will be deleted — no exceptions.
You are solely responsible for your words. By posting your comments to the blog you are granting CTF the right, in perpetuity, to use, alter, and/or display them however we see fit, including in print and advertising.
Once your comment is submitted, that’s it — you’re immortalized and it will remain on the web. Comments will not be edited or deleted on request.
All comments are accepted at the discretion of CTF and CTF’s decision is final.
